Q:æWhat does a day at work consist of for you?

A:æLots of follow-ups and coordination with customers and technology providers. I set a side a certain portion of my day to be creative when it comes to new revenue management strategies and ideas on how to educate people optimise processes and increase revenue and occupancy for my clients.

Q:æWhat’s the best part of your job?

A:æEducating people on new strategies and selling practices and then seeing the numbers grow and the satisfaction of my clients. That is a big motivation for me.

Q:æDo you have anyone you’ve looked up to?

A:æYes. But not only one person in particular. I always try to gain as much knowledge possible by looking at hotels in other markets including chain hotels to see what might work or not for my clients.

Q:æDo you have any nice traditions at your office?

A:æWriting X-Mas Cards and going to the Oktoberfest with my clients.

Q:æHow long have you been a member of HSMAI?

A:æI only became a member of HSMAI in February 2016.

Q:æWhat do you think is the best thing about HSMAI?

A:æThe international spirit and atmosphere as it widens my horizon and lets me “think outside the box”.

Q:æAre there any activities or projects you think HSMAI should start up?

A:æEducating young people and offering certification plans which you already do is great. However I wish for exciting Sales and Marketing initiatives in order to make the hotel industry and what career chances it offers more attractive toæyoung people who are interested in this great world of hospitality. I see almost no energy being invested by any organisation to promote the hospitality industry which is a shame as it results in a negative image regarding working hours social life and salaries. Maybe this is a role HSMAI can take?

Q:æDescribe your perfect weekend

A:æSleeping in doing a Harley trip to the river banks and lay in the sun enjoying nature. In the evening going to a beer garden enjoying some Bavarian specialties and playing UNO with friends. Sunday sleeping in going on a Cabrio-Tour to the lakes or the mountains and enjoy beautiful Bavaria.

Q:æIf you were trapped on a desert island what would you take with you if you could choose one thing?

A:æDepends where the island is located if in a lake or the sea. If it is atæsea then I would most likely take drinking water.

Q:æWhat is the title of the book about your life?

A:æWhatever happens happens.

Q: What is your next travel destination?

A:æMontenegro.

Q:æDo you have any special hobbies?

A:æCooking Baking Mountainbiking Hiking Skiing Swimming.
