Call for feedback on the HSMAI Europe Commercial Graduate Program

Dear all. Happy New Year! We hope you had a great celebration and are well rested.

We are preparing for our upcoming Board of Directors meeting as well as the Leadership day and more taking place on January 17th in London at the InterContinental London Park Lane.

A lot of our time also goes towards the ROC and the HSMAI Awards taking place the following day. If you have not signed up yet I recommend that you do that today using the link above.

We also have a great new initiative from our HSMAI Europe Student Council – namely “The HSMAI Europe Commercial Graduate Program”: a program designed to provide graduate students with the opportunity to gain knowledge and experience in the commercial side of the industry.

The attached document outlines the potential format and topics to be covered during the program. This is outlined by representatives of our Student Council. The goal of the program is to help students who are about to graduate to have a smooth transition from studying to working in the commercial side of the industry. Also, it is an opportunity to attract those students to our industry.

We are currently gathering feedback from students on what would be interesting and valuable to them, from our partner schools on what they think is missing in their curricula. Now we are reaching out to HSMAI Europe members and potential members in the industry, so this is why we are reaching out to you now. Please share with us what you are looking for in graduates.

We believe this program has a great potential and is very beneficial to all our members and to students. We would like to hear your feedback on the attached document. Feel free to provide written feedback to us and if this is something you and your company as members would like to be involved with. Also if you see topics missing or topics not relevant, as you see it, on the program description draft attached, please reach out to us as soon as possible and not later than Friday the 12th of January at postbox@hsmai.eu with the attention of Yana Kyrylyuk.

We plan to discuss this at our Leadership day, so please get back to us in due time.

We also would like to share with you a Position Paper produced by some of the members of the former and present HSMAI Student Council. Yana and Emile together with Bianca Miholca from HSMAI Europe (currently at maternity leave), and Luc Houben, Lecturer at Hotel Management School Maastricht and Member of the HSMAI Europe People & Culture Advisory Board.

Please read and share it with your colleagues.

Thank you in advance!

Kind regards,

Ingunn Hofseth
