First Goal Reached!

Last week I wrote about one of HSMAI Europe`s main focus areas for the coming years which will be on how to make hospitality attractive for talents. This is vital in order to help retain great people in our industry, and the HSMAI Europe Student Council is an important initiative in this regard.

I am happy to inform you that we have reached the first goal we set: five of the most respected hospitality schools in Europe have now confirmed to join the HSMAI Europe Student Council. We will announce the names of the schools in the weeks to come.

So now we move on to our next goal, which is five more hospitality schools. We will set a limit of ten hospitality schools for 2022 due to the fact that we will be working closely with all of them, and making sure to visit them all in 2022.

I am also glad to inform you that we will start three Rising Leader Councils in Europe in 2022. One per discipline: Sales, Marketing, and Revenue Optimization.

These Councils are an opportunity to cultivate the next generation of industry leaders. They will provide a unique forum for emerging professionals to network with peers, share their career journey wisdom, advance their skill sets, shape the future of HSMAI, and contribute to the industry. The Councils are intended to work closely with existing European Advisory Boards to ensure the communication of industry-wide efforts and concerns, while creating a forum for rising leaders’ concerns to be heard. They will be supported by the regional Advisory Boards representing the same discipline. This is part of a global initiative by the HSMAI Foundation.

This will support the other HSMAI Europe initiatives very well, and we are looking forward to a very active HSMAI year.

In the weeks and months to come we will be presenting the new chairs for our different Advisory Boards joining us for 2022. The first one out is Eric Brun, the new chair for HSMAI Europe Marketing & Branding Advisory Board. Please get to know him better below in this newsletter.

We hope to see you soon!

Best Regards,

Ingunn Hofseth
