HSMAI Europe has announced its official launch in Spain, marking a significant milestone in its strategy to expand and strengthen its membership in southern Europe. Following an introduction into Greece earlier this year, the expansion into Spain reinforces HSMAI’s mission to grow its influence and foster collaboration in Europe’s most dynamic hospitality markets.
HSMAI Europe’s presence in Spain will bring regular meetings and conferences aimed at supporting and elevating the hospitality industry. They will offer professionals valuable tools, insights, and expertise tailored to the Spanish market, promoting knowledge-sharing and professional growth in sales, marketing and digital transformation. Committed to business growth and industry excellence, HSMAI Europe seeks to empower hospitality leaders, foster innovation, and enhance career perceptions in the hotel, event, and travel sectors.
HSMAI Europe will officially launch in Spain with a press conference and industry discussion on October 24th, hosted at the Radisson RED Madrid and co-sponsored by Radisson Hotel Group (RHG) and Amadeus. With Amadeus headquartered in Madrid and RHG’s global centre of excellence also based in the city, the support from these two industry-leading companies emphasises the significance of the association’s expansion for both local and international stakeholders.
The theme for the launch evening, The Future of MICE Data, will feature thought-provoking discussions led by industry experts and offer a unique platform to introduce the HSMAI mission and showcase the benefits of affiliating with the association. Members of the Spanish hospitality sector and media professionals are warmly invited to attend the event, which promises valuable insights into the latest trends and challenges shaping the hospitality industry.
Matthieu Lafaurie, Vice President, The Club & Commercial Transformation at Radisson Hotel Group and Member of the HSMAI Europe Board of Directors, who has been instrumental in bringing HSMAI Europe to Spain, commented:
“We are thrilled to support the launch of HSMAI Europe in Spain, a country known for its thriving hospitality sector, providing the ideal environment to foster collaboration, innovation, and excellence. With Madrid a major hub for hospitality and tourism, this is the perfect opportunity for the association to bring together industry professionals to exchange knowledge and drive meaningful change. Moreover, The Club of Revenue Management by RHG in Madrid has been a pioneering force in advancing best practices in revenue management and fostering a community of industry leaders. Its involvement will further strengthen this initiative, ensuring that revenue optimization and strategic growth are key focal points of HSMAI Europe’s mission in Spain.”
In addition to supporting the HSMAI Europe launch in Spain, Amadeus has been confirmed as the “Preferred Sponsor” for the upcoming HSMAI Europe Commercial Strategy Week in London, scheduled for January 2025. As the highest-level sponsor, Amadeus is committed to supporting HSMAI Europe initiatives that bring the hospitality industry together for networking and professional development.
Katie Moro, Vice President of Data Partnerships at Amadeus and a member of the HSMAI Americas Board of Directors, emphasised the significance of Amadeus’s involvement in the Spain launch and the HSMAI Europe Commercial Strategy Conference in London:
“The value we derive from our partnership with HSMAI in the US has been immense, so extending that relationship to other global markets is a natural progression for us. Spain and the UK are two critical travel and hospitality markets, and with our headquarters in Madrid, it is essential for us to support the launch of HSMAI Europe here. The association is integral to bringing the sector together, and we are excited to be part of this journey. We look forward to the upcoming HSMAI Europe Commercial Strategy Week in London, where we will continue to engage with leaders across the industry.”
Amadeus has previously supported HSMAI Europe including their first ‘Future of MICE Data’ roundtable, which took place at Sofitel Frankfurt Opera on May 13 to coincide with global events show IMEX. It saw hotel industry leaders brainstorm with Amadeus and MICEview to compile a wish list of data and information they require to better plan their meetings and events strategy, ultimately delivering more profitable MICE business to their properties.
HSMAI Europe’s expansion into Spain is a vital component of its strategy, which aims to strengthen its presence in southern Europe by building local partnerships and creating valuable opportunities for professionals in the hospitality, sales, marketing, and revenue management sectors.
Ingunn Hofseth, President & CEO of HSMAI Region Europe, shared their strategic vision for the future of HSMAI in Spain:
“Spain represents a crucial market for HSMAI Europe, and we are excited to officially launch our network. Making Spain one of our permanent aligns with our broader vision to foster collaboration, innovation, and excellence within the European hospitality industry. We believe that by bringing together professionals from across the region, we can create a stronger, more connected community that drives positive change and continued growth for the sector. We look forward to working closely with our partners and members to achieve these goals.”
