Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International (HSMAI), an organization that focuses on sales, marketing, revenue optimization and management within the tourism and hotel industry. We are part of a global organization that has existed in the USA since 1927. We have all the leading hotel chains and many of the other hotels as well as other leading players in tourism as members, and are one of the most active organizations in tourism and the hotel industry in Norway. Our purpose is to set the tone and be innovative, and the industry’s preferred point of reference for professional development, commercial strategies and sustainable development in the hotel and tourism industry.
In this afternoon and evening, HSMAI will organise a major event with the aim of informing students, teachers and school counsellors in upper secondary schools about the exciting career opportunities that exist within the hotel and tourism industry. Students and others from schools and colleges are also invited. The tourism industry is a growth industry that will need many new and skilled employees in the coming years. The focus of the event will therefore be to showcase all the varied opportunities that exist within marketing, branding/brand building, sales, revenue management, digitalisation, distribution, hotel management and more in this industry. In other words, all the subject areas HSMAI works with nationally, European and globally. The event will be a mix of short and inspiring lectures from key young leaders and others in tourism and hotels who work with the various focus areas mentioned above, and simple stands for personal dialogue between representatives from the industry, universities both at home and abroad and the students.
We will also collaborate with Innovation Norway and possibly other organizations in the industry who will help spread the good news. Feel free to contact us. Together we are stronger!

- Yes, great that you are doing this. This is important and should be prioritised.
- This should not be a job fair, but that we collectively think bigger and long-term and we talk about the opportunity that exists.
- We agree that we will be in a neutral place and not in a hotel. We are now holding premises from Wednesday 6 September from the early afternoon until 8pm in the evening.
We have engaged a project manager in this regard.
