During the HSMAI Day in Berlin on October the 16th, and the HSMAI Days taking place in other countries during the fall, HSMAI Region Europe and the Germany-based company Customer Alliance are set to hand out national awards.

The awards are based on customer satisfaction and reviews in various portals, such as TripAdvisor, booking.com, Hotels.com, Google, Facebook and so on, divided into the three categories hotels, restaurants, and attractions and adventures. Customer Alliance has completed a near complete survey of the German hotel and restaurant market.

Customer Alliance has applied a wide specter of criteria while assessing the candidates and reaching a nomination in each category, involving judgement of not only the scope of reviews and average score over the past twelve months, but also the management’s response to guest feedback, as well as an internal and proprietary, semantic analysis, in order to understand the guest response.

Customer Alliance has compiled an as complete basis for an overview of the German travel and hospitality industry as possible, which is also going to be the case in other countries marking the HSMAI Day, which is to say Norway, the UK, Germany, Spain and Sweden, to begin with.

The awards will be handed out annually, based on the year past since last time, so that candidates won’t be able to rest on last year’s accomplishments. Please find the program for the German HSMAI Day on October the 4th, and register your participation on this page.

The HSMAI Day and the national awards will be taking place in several European cities:

“Delivering first class service to all guests is the goal of any hospitality establishment, and we’re excited to be able to recognise the best of the best with the HSMAI & Customer Alliance Guest Experience Award. Too often the great service that hoteliers, tour operators, and other hospitality companies deliver goes unnoticed or is taken for granted. It’s a fantastic opportunity to give recognition where it’s due and we feel that there is no better partner to achieve this with than HSMAI,” stated co-founder and Chief Operation Office of Customer Alliance, Torsten Sabel.

“By restricting the survey to the previous twelve months, this can be done annually, reflecting the past year. That means that candidates cannot rely on great performances from years gone by, which could potentially inflate or deflate the lifetime average score,” Torsten Sabel explains.
