Last week the very first HSMAI Commercial Summer Camp took place in Amsterdam. A whole week of great learning

At the Summer Camp you had to think about the pros and cons and why decisions are being made and the strategies behind it. This allows the delegates to return from the summer camp and have genuine discussions with their superior and others about these types of strategies and they can play a much larger and more important role within their company.

This summer’s attendants took mutual advantage of the expertise each and everyone of them brought to the Commercial Summer Camp – as well as of making the acquaintance of colleagues from different companies and countries with whom experiences were broadly shared, which is an added dimension enjoyed and appreciated by all.

HSMAI would like to take this opportunity to extend our gratitude to all attendants and experts attending in Amsterdam. We would also like to thank all of our Advisory Boards members, taking an active part in the Summer Camp planning and also joined us as expert – as well as Cornell University, of course.

The feedback from the participants on the content and the concept as such has the highest scores which is obviously wonderful news for us and exceeding all expectations. The Summer Camp will take place on a yearly basis and we will soon set the dates and destination for next year.

Before we do that we will ask you for your advice by answering our short survey below:

Bear in mind when you answer that we will try to find a time that works well for the entire European market. See also below for potential participant profile.

Potential Participant Profile:

The Commercial Summer Camp focuses on developing cross-functional strategic thinking and leadership skills, to enable tomorrow’s commercial leaders in the hospitality industry. The ideal candidate is already a sales, marketing, or revenue management expert or a property leader with the ambition and desire to understand all of the specific disciplines and what it takes to keep them all running smoothly together.
