HSMAI EUROPE WEEKLY | CURATE AND BOARD MEETING

This week HSMAI Europe held its first biannual Curate event this year at the Essec Business School in France. The next Curate will take place in London on Wednesday November 9th.

Curate is designed to identify, capture, and shape the executive-level content you need to focus on and engage in a full day of invigorating cross-disciplinary discussions about emerging trends and crucial issues. This time we put a spotlight on our Student Council, and for the first time invited students together with industry leaders to address the challenges of staffing in the hospitality industry, and to share the findings of a survey for hospitality students on their expectations from their future hospitality employers. “Hospitality Students’ Needs: what do they expect from their future employers?” The survey was conducted amongst 5 of the leading hotel and business schools in Europe. Also discussed were the Top 10 trends to watch for commercial leaders in the industry – identified by HSMAI Europe in a new survey. Both surveys are still a work in progress, and the final results will be presented at the HSMAI Europe Commercial Strategy Week in London the last week in June.

Joining the Curate virtually was Debra Jasper, Founder & CEO of Mindset Digital with an insightful presentation “Distant and Distracted” – Recruit and Retain Talent in an Uncertain, Hybrid World.

Thank you to Gil Mulders for doing a great job as moderator, and to everyone who participated at the Curate. A special thank you to Essec Business School and to Johanna Wagner and Noemie Lambert for all your support.

The day after the Curate, the HSMAI Europe Board Meeting took place at the Accor Head Office in Paris. A big thank you to Markus Keller at Accor for hosting us, and for your kind hospitality.

Our next event will be on Tuesday May 24th. “Hospitality Unlocked” is an event put together by students for students to provide them with an overview of the newest hospitality trends, and how they can “unlock” opportunities within hospitality from these in the near future as young professionals. The event will be held at the Breda University Of Applied Sciences and is open to any of our members wishing to attend. Please note that a big part of the programme also will be virtual, so you can watch it from home. Click here for the full programme and to register.

We will be sending out the updated program for ROC, Sales Leader Forum and the Marketing Strategy Conference next week. If you have not signed up yet, please click here to do so.

Remember to save the day and evening of Thursday June 30th and the day of Friday July 1st in London!

Enjoy the weekend, and I look forward to seeing you soon!

All the best,

Ingunn Hofseth
